Armin Etemadi
Armin Etemadi, born on 24th September 1989 in Tehran, got his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2015. Afterwards he embarked on a new career and completed a full course on filmmaking at the Iranian Youth Cinema Society. There he directed some experimental and student short videos. He has just finished his first professional short film named “The Woman Who Laughs” (2021).

Synopsis
One day life of an Iranian woman trapped in patriarchal stereotypes. We see her daydreams and nightmares in a complicated marital relationship. The female protagonist is in love with the theater and has a passion to be an actress. We see an ordinary daily life of her and her contentions with her humiliating husband. The Man wants to watch a football match while the woman tries to rehearse for a play adapted from “Three Drops of Blood”, a famous short story by Sadegh Hedayat.
